Some serious WTFs in there - going all the way back to Spring of 2006!
This one above is from December 2006 at the Cake Shop - back around that time Sam and Charlie from Zs were doing these super rad shows at Cake Shop called “B to Z”… One had this crazy performance art thing with a big cake… I remember Moth (Sam’s duo with Ben Gerstein) doing a crazy set in the middle of the room… I think it was right when Dirty Projectors first moved to NY and I think Charlie was playing with them… Pre- Amber and Angel maybe? I remember Dave playing nylon string and sitting in front of the stage and singing with no mic - but still his voice carried through the space… Nat was playing upright… Telepathe and Aa and Lake and First Nation and Imaginary People and Vaz and Vizusa and Electroputas and Chuck Bettis and Skint - the shows were so awesome and crazy… This video above really brings it back - really getting WTF on it. Where are these shows now??!!
This was still a few months before “LUCAS” came out…
