Three new tunes and two from MONEY at UNDER 100 - the wildly sweet basement venue beneath Dame Dash’s office/studio/gallery put together by Ariel from Less Artists More Condos… Ariel said that ERYKAH BADU wanted to hear the R&B jams from MONEY so for one of the very few times in our existence we happily obliged (just smile and say yes).
This was a “big deal” show in terms of who we were opening for, but MAN this show had a total house party basement show vibe… People just chilling in random rooms, a bunch of friends there, Colt45 tall boys… I felt like we were playing at the Treehouse in Little Rock or something (except everyone showing off their hip hop fashions and reveling in each others’ beauty)… Totally chill. All the bands slayed. Erykah’s band was unbelievably tight and sounded so refreshing (despite how long they made people wait in a hot sweaty basement) in a small room without the affect of a good sound system. It was a straight up basement show P.A… !
All three of these new tunes will be on PEOPLE.
